Tuesday, May 11, 2021, was characterized by the finalization of a large land transport operation of the APOIO 3 vessel. The acquiring of the ship by AMA Brazil for seaweed production projects of the species Kappaphycus alvarezii, through COOPERAQUA projects and AMA Brazil itself, with the support of the Coastal Agency, which is in the licensing phase by the Federal Government agencies. The vessel has ideal dimensions and characteristics for the necessary functions but was unused for some time. Reforms and adjustments, with replacement of wood, caulking, installation of sulphating equipment, new motorization and reversal system are necessary. All being well, it will be available for the second half of 2021, when the licensing processes must receive their due approvals for the Assignment of Use of the Union's Waters.
