AMA Brasil and Cooperaqua realize Maritime Audiovisual Recording Expedition for Algae Projects

The presidents of AMA BRASIL and COOPERAQUA, Hermann Palmeira and Renato do Prado Santos, respectively, realized this weekend 27 and 28 of March 2021, a maritime expedition along the coast of the four municipalities of the North Coast of São Paulo. The team set sail on Saturday morning from the Figueira pier located in the neighbourhood of São Francisco, in São Sebastião, with the support of the vessel JP Matiazzo, led by seamanship professionals José Peres and Carlão.

Sailing almost 200 kilometers (108 nautical miles) on a route that began at São Sebastião along the coast of Caraguatatuba to Ubatuba. Reaching the islands of Anchieta (Ubatuba), Vitória and Búzios (Ilhabela), he was complemented in Ilhabela along the east and north coasts from Saco do Sombrio, where he stayed overnight at Ponta das Canas. Returning to his point of origin on Sunday after more than 40 hours of navigation, satisfied that recording audiovisual contents were completed as planned, returned to the place of origin a few hours ahead of schedule, but above all with planned work fully executed.

The purpose of the initiative was to use the audiovisual content necessary to fulfil the obligations with the federal agencies to facilitate the licensing of marine algae cultivation areas of the species Kappaphycus alvarezii, which are in progress and await the final authorizations and assignments for the use of the Union's waters. The assembling of projects at this stage is supposed to begin effectively in each area in the coming months.

Audiovisual records serve as an initial inspection in the implementation areas and documents that issue obligations to the competent bodies. Audiovisual records also aim to ensure quality materials for film production, documentaries, educational campaigns and dissemination for work and actions of the entities to society. This first moment is the preparation of vast material with more than three thousand images for the opening and implementation of the annual self-declaration system of the conditions and phases of each location where the projects will be licensed.

After capturing images, screening, preparation, production and distribution of audiovisual content, necessary action will be taken for each of the project folders, ensuring that all material is indispensable in the composition of the administrative, executive and operational phases. We know that many new features will emerge during the preparation of these projects by AMA BRASIL and Cooperaqua. It is interesting to follow the details and evolution on this website, showing the advance of each phase.
