AMA BRASIL supports, assists an subscribes to AMAREDD+ Brasil training and initiates a pilot audit

AMA BRASIL’s president, Hermann Palmeira, participated, supported and directly assisted in the elaboration of the bylaws and the principles, concepts, objectives and foundations, subscribing to the founding minutes of AMAREDD+ BRASIL, ASSOCIATION OF THE AMBIENTALIST MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE REDUCTION OF EMISSIONS FROM DEFORESTATION AND FOREST DEGRADATION IN BRAZIL, held in Rio Preto da Eva, in the state of Amazonas. Formed by five municipalities, Rio Preto da Eva, Juruá, Carauari, Tapauá and Itacoatiara, are pioneers searching for the elaboration of public projects REDD in Brazil. With the institution formed, the search for joint policies began within the scope, objectives of auditing and approving the Environmental protection areas of forests in their territories.

The municipality of Rio Preto da Eva initiated the pilot project to be replicated in various municipals carried out jointly with the company Carbon Socioambiental, led by zoo technician Romeu Cordeiro da Silva. Together, the audit process was started with the certifier AENOR specialized in Carbon Credit projects originating in Madrid, Spain. The entire audit and certification process of the project Rio Preto da Eva must be organized during2021, assured that all necessary and mandatory adjustments to meet international parameters are.With the expected success at this stage, we are confident of full approval of the pilot project,consequently opening the protocols of the four cities previously mentioned, to be concluded by the beginning of 2022.
