AMA Brazil begins to implement a new Environmental Farm Unit for Red Fruits

"Another Environmental Farm Unit by AMA BRASIL which will have numerous activities on its premises, but in this case, the Unit's main activity is the production of Red Fruits."

On May 10, 2021, the initial operational milestone for the implementation of the Environmental Farm, which is the new Red Fruit Production and Cultivation Unit of AMA BRASIL in Ibiúna SP, took place in this area and was signed by the president, Hermann Palmeira, and has been enforced since March 1, 2021. The initial 70 days were necessary for the proper administrative and bureaucratic adjustments. The operational activities in the field were then effectively initiated with the preparation of the land by machines, professionals and the planting of the first seedlings. Both land and crops received the relevant inputs for the perfect treatment of this fruit-growing activity, this being the third Environmental Farm Unit implemented.

The area to be planted in this Red Fruit Production unit of AMA BRASIL is approximately 100 thousand square meters, the equivalent of 10 acres of cultivation, using blueberry, blackberry and raspberry varieties. All types of red fruits are commercialized in the Brazilian market and widely accepted on the international market, enabling the export to various countries. The expected productivity in this area alone is 300 tons of fruit, adding the three varieties. There will also be new seedlings, allowing the expansion of production in other Environmental Farm Units of AMA Brazil. Another important point. This unit serves as a production laboratory with an infrastructure for training, courses, creation of nurseries and above all, organic production. AMA BRASIL intends to request the necessary certifications and recognition to obtain the Green Seal within a year.

This same Unit will be open to the public during the harvest periods December to March. Visitors will have the chance to interact with the production, fruit tasting and buying directly at the cultivation area. Participation in processing and production workshops of ripe fruits for jams, jellies, wines, juices and other creative possibilities will give the visitors the maximum benefit from harvesting to final consumption.New production units on Environmental Farms are being equally prepared. These activities are available on this website, and throughout the project, there will be news updates so that everyone can check the details of each stage.
