Navy performs inspection operation in the areas of aquaculture projects in Public Waters

May 12, 2021, Wednesday, was the date the Brazilian Navy had chosen through the officers of the São Sebastião (Saint Sebastian) Port Captaincy, to carry out inspections in the areas of aquaculture projects that agencies of the Federal Government analyzed to receive a technical opinion of feasibility, aiming at implementing aquaculture projects for mariculture, seaweed and the cultivation of living organisms through the Assignment of Use in Union Waters.


The technical visit was carried out by the Navy vessel and accompanied by the president of AMA BRASIL, Hermann Palmeira, who was present at the cultivation area of ​​the Barequeçaba coast, where Mr. Nelson José Brescia is starting a mariculture project, later they visited the Figueira coast, in the São Francisco (Saint Francis) district, where COOPERAQUA is licensing its project to produce seaweed, the Kappaphycus alvarezii species, in partnership with AMA BRASIL and the support of the Costal Agency, both in the municipality of São Sebastião under the responsibility of the professional Aquaculture Technician, Renato do Prado Santos, who is also President of COOPERAQUA and Director of Aquaculture at AMA BRASIL.


The same technical visits by the Brazilian Navy May 12th were organized for the previous months, but rescheduled because of the restrictions imposed by the Government of São Paulo State thus preventing fieldwork but as new inspection operations were planned, AMA BRASIL will inform in the coming days about the schedule of its six (6) licensing areas, as all have been updated regarding the agility and progress of the phase of inspections that will occur in 1. Area of ​​cultivation in Caraguatatuba, 2. An area in São Sebastião, 3. An area in Ubatuba and three other areas in Ilhabela, all on the North Coast of São Paulo.
